I don't think more ohms would hurt anything, it is just less ohms that would cause a problem. Only thing I could see being an issue is weaker spark maybe.
,6 is not good. 1.5 or more even if it means bypassin' the ballast would
maybe make less of an adventure than I-80 is already gonna be with the crappy weatheweather coming across that area.

sorry XSAlex, if I had gotten on here on the 18th I could have brought you a coil. Still can if needed. Good luck with it. P.M. me if you need help still.

FYI: I just got a text from Alex! @ 2pm EST.
He is 1/2 way to Reno and says "its running strong". He said he was able to finally round up a $50 buck coil from a Ducati dealership. (no info on what kind or specs)
Not sure the details but Good News is that he is rolling. Imagine he will post an update for us tonight from Reno or tomorrow night when he gets home to Vermont.

Hey Alex,
When you are safely home. We need a full ride report with pictures of not just the last leg of your adventure. Perhaps next year a warmer weather window should be in your plan.

Hey guys I'm on a flight home to Vermont now. Managed to fix the bike with zip ties, the old plug wires and caps, and a used ignition coil from a close by Ducati dealership rated for 0.6 ohm ignition systems. I wired in a 10 watt 1 ohm resistor with it as to not fry anything. I can say the bike runs a lot better than it did even when it was firing on all 4. I also cleaned and greased all connections before I got the new coil so that could be it. I will make sure to post all the details when I get home, drove through rain all the way for
Slc to reno, and it was a haul. All in all over 11k miles, and plenty of national parks over the last 2 months.

that's what the adventure of life is all about. Whats your story ?
Broke down in 1972 with nothing but 10 bucks and my watch. Slept in my car until morning , 34 degrees. Gave the mechanic my watch as collateral until the next time I passed through Grand Rapids Michigan. NO Cell phone you say ? Traveling was an adventure then, made it back to GR got my watch back and life was good.
Glad you made it back to Vermont !
