Be careful on the right hand turns. That exhaust hangs low...

        Hey there Graybird,

I ran my stock 81Sh with a Mac 4-1 for 9 years without increased jetting, it had the OEM airbox and filter then. I did seem like it was a little weak in 5th when trying to push it too high, but otherwise had plenty of power to redline in the other gears. With your pipes sounding LOUD suggests that they may not have any actual baffles in the mufflers??

You've got strong hot spark, and so the concern would be running too lean/hot and burning holes in your pistons. I forgot to look at what year you have, Yamaha jetted them leaner in the later years for emissions.

Folks will probably suggest watching your plugs closely, and if they are bleach white.....then you could probably go up 1 or 2 main jet sizes, and recheck your plugs.

........believe that was 4into2, not 4into1 referred to....
