  • kid knocked the bike over :( Anyone know of good aftermarket headlight brackets?

Well the little one knocked over the bike the other day. She didnt get hurt and I didnt notice any damages on the bike right of the bat but yesterday I was going to take it out and noticed a that the headlight mounting ears were bent pretty good. Does anyone have any experiance with after market brackets?

I checked to see if NW Vintage has ears for a Special. They do not. They have only the right side for a standard.

My dad made some out of aluminum diamond plate for my sisters 82 Seca. She wanted to get rid of the whole atari dash and square headlight. We went to the boneyard and picked up a bucket from a XS special. Then just cut, trimmed and bent the diamond plate to make new mounts. Looks pretty decent.

Thanks George, I worked the ones that were on there back into shape. There not perfect but will work till i get others. Upon taking it apart i found that the rubber mounting stuff and all the little bits were in pretty rough shape so i went threw the parts bin and Im going to borrow from the 750 for a plastic piece then its just a matter of boating it all back up later today. It also had the wrong headlights bucket on it so that also got changed out.

Those rubber parts are still available from mother Yammy and are actually not that expensive. May want to check it out.

Thanks for the info. Would you recommend from the dealer or from an online source? The Special is nice but the rubber bits are functional but worn. I would love to get all the bits to make it 100%

Think I just ordered them online from Yammy. Been a long while since I did, but Hey check out you local stealer as he may have access to parts you need. In fact dealer price was cheaper than online for my last 81LH caliper rebuild. Sometimes the dealer will surprise you. Most times they will just disgust you.
