    vibration

    my sg has a nasty vibration at beg
    gining 75 mph. can feel it in foot peggs and seat of your pants. seems to be speed specific. all happened after fixing exhaust.double checked all my work alls is tight
    when you want something bad enough, don't let anything stand in your way, and don't take "no" for an answer. EVER

    Check that there isn't an exhaust pipe touching the frame somewhere.

      did.has good clearance.just driving me crazy dont have nother exhaust to try.thinking maybe exhaust is broken internally

        Check the rear hanger mount, some aftermarket systems don't play well with that rubber bushing, solid mounting it there may be better, JAT

          Have you just timed it lately? Marks book says that vibration can occur from the pipes if the advancer is slightly off.

            The timing won't move unless it's been messed with.

            The problem began when the exhaust after the exhaust was worked on..................

              we have joy again in xs land. the vibration was from the exhaust.must be broken internaly. buckmaster from here had a jardine 4-2 that he let me try out and problem solved. bought it for150.00. not use to the rumble it has either. bike runs different with the jardine.cant quite put my finger on it.it does not have the cross over pipe.

                  Glad to help out Graybird78 you have my number I liked that set of
                  pipes but I had Kerkers on my previous two xs1100 specials
                  so I had to change this one to one too.

                    you were right I checked when I took the pipes over to
                    graybird78 the little ear on the right side swing arm was digging
                    in the bell of the pipe right angle grinder fixed that.
