    Early model mixture screw o-rings

Should the early model carbs have o-rings and washers on the mix screws?

No, just a spring to keep it from losing adjustment.

OK. I am having an issue where changing the mix screws doesn't seem to show any/little change on my vacuum gauges. I'm using the morgan carbtune synch.

I have sprayed brake/carb cleaner all over to check for vacuum leaks all over and it seems fine. My next step is to double check the float levels and clean the pilot circuits (again).

Could it be the dreaded butterfly shaft seals?

Take the screw completely out of the carb, is the end blunt or sharp as a sewing needle?

Is that an overstatement? I pulled all four of mine out today, and none of them were sharp at all. In-fact, they just looked like pointed jets.
