Sorry for this - but I AM search impaired - I remember (I think) that the 79SF seat will fit my 81H with some minor mods - can't find the thread now....

Can someone confirm this please - additionally, can you please give me an idea what these "minor mods" would be so I can know if I can handle it.

The 79SF has the tail/brake light on the fender so there is no cut out at the back of the seat for the light. You would have to switch the rear fender and get rid of the grab bar to make it work or cut up the seat pan. Any 80-81 Special seat will bolt right on.

80-81 special seat is still a 'plug'n'play', although the 'dropped' sides of the special seat will ride on topside of sidecovers making them non-removable without removing seat. The cushy frontside of Special seat will flex right up on the backside of the Venturer tank.

The biggest issue will be the TCI location.
The 79 seat indent for the TCI is a different location than where the 81 TCI is located, so you may have the seat 'pushing' down on the TCI a bit.
I've got this problem on my G, the plastic inner fender that the TCI is mounted on flexs well enough for it.
