    harbor freight lift

fwiw, please be VERY careful with how much trust you put into this thing. as with so many of their products you get what you pay for. I know a couple of guys that have had these things fail and not stay up. one slipped down very slowly and would not stay up and the other failed instantly dumping his bike onto the garage floor. they told #2 they couldn't fix it, no parts were available for it, and sorry about your bike "it must have been operator error".
perhaps another brand from another supplier might be a better investment.

That's why they give you a bar that goes across the front as a safety measure to prevent this from happening. In case of hydraulic failure, the stand scissors down onto this bar and stops. ANY hydraulic item can fail. I know several people who have been using these successfully for years.

I use mine frequently. No problems. I always use the safety bar

Even if i have to replace the pump/jack it's still a deal.

I picked up the HF lift this past 4th of July with a $299 coupon from some Harley Motorcycle rag magazine.

              Best. Purchase. Ever!

Seriously. I have had all my bikes on this thing AND a few others. My '11 is currently on there getting some upgrades.

I would NOT hesitate to purchase one. Your knees and back with thank you. AND, I find myself tackling more "advanced" projects on my bikes since they are at eye level now.

The thread on the Naked Goldwings forum appears to be some sort of odd lift. It was welded wrong AND the safety bar is NOT like the ones I have seen in the HF lift.

Storage this winter will involve tipping the lift on it's side and using some straps to hold it against the garage wall.

If you spend ANY time wrenching on your bikes, this is a lifesaver. I figure the resale on Craisglist will be the same as I paid for it if I ever need to sell it.
