  • Should a wire go from the switched starter power (the big one) to ignition?

I'm finishing up the wiring on the rebuild and there is this random red/yellow wire that comes out of the harness that looks like it is supposed to connect to one other wire.

    According to the manual:

This leads me to believe that there should be a wire coming off of the switched side of the starter solenoid, that goes to this single wire, and ultimately to the ignition unit.

It just seems a little odd to me that such a huge switch connection, and then there is a tiny wire coming out to the ignition unit.

If you still have the ballast resistor in place (stock coils), yes, that needs to hook to the TCI. This supplies full battery voltage to the coils while the starter button is pressed.
