Quick question. Have a 4 wire drag specialties tach. When hooked up I am reading 8000 or so at idle. Reading all 4 cyl? How do I correct? Special gauge for 4 cyl bikes?

You need a gauge set for 2 cyl. because of the wasted spark system our bikes use.

How do you have it hooked up? If the trigger wire is not grounding out then the gauge will peg to 8000. I know because I just did that with a generic wasted spark gauge. You may be able to hook it up to both coils (with diodes) to get it to read correctly. But it depends on the specific gauge. Did it come with a wiring diagram?

No it did not. It's a drag specialties 4 wire. No light.
