broken wire too short to fit back together

Found broken black/yellow wire in harness. Went to splice together and while trying to strip cover off, cut wire off short. How can I put wire together when they aren;t even close to reaching, at least an inch or two short?

Find some wire of the same (or very similar gauge) and splice it in.

Make sure you splice in wire that is the same or larger gauge.
