Pic of a 4 way manometer carb tool?

I built a tool based on the tech thread with the plenum and single gauge with the aquarium valve, but I can't seem to find a pic (or write up) of someone who has made one (and used it) of the 4 tube(tubing) manometer type sync rig.
Also while mercury would be nice becasue it's heavy and won't move much per inch of vacuum, what other fluids might be good instead? Oil? ATF? Colored Water?

I think this would be a great alternative to the other homemade rig and should be added to the tech tips, provided that someone has pics.

Just save your pennies for the right tool. The right tool makes thing go much faster and easier.

The homemade tube style ones are huge.

Yeah I figured that they'd have to be pretty tall in order to prevent sucking the fluid in.
I was just wondering if anyone had done it this way or not.
Like I said, I made the one with the PVC and the single gauge and it works great, but I hate having to constantly open/shut those valves in between adjustments.

Those aquarium valves are notorious for leaking as well, especially the cheap plastic ones.

ATF would be the best (and usually recommended) choice. It has some weight to it but is still pretty thin. Plus if it does get sucked in it won't do any harm.

I made a nice 2 tube one with yardsticks, vinyl tubing and ATF. I use it all the time on my bikes. It originally WAS a 4 tube, but any tiny leak in the system really messes it up.

You can see it hanging on the wall in the upper left corner. 2 yellow yardsticks and the clear tubing. I used 3/8 tubing for the "body" and 1/4 for the sync port lines. Shove the 1/4 into the 3/8 and tape the joints up with electrical tape. Fill with your choice of ATF and its all set to go. Just sync the carbs in pairs.

Hey George, I used the PVC tube setup you made for years. Only I never could find an aquarium valve that worked, so I just moved the tube carb to carb. It works, but it is tedious and slow. I always felt it was very accurate though.

Well, now I own a Morgan Carbtune. And I can tell you, I wish I had spent the money years ago. The other method works, and I still think it was accurate. However, the time and effort saved is worth every penny.

fwiw, I also have a Morgan Carbtune and I think it is far superior and easier than fluid or other vacuum manometers. I've used all kinds and I built my own unit a while back. it was very inexpensive to build , worked ok, but not as accurate as the morgan. I bought my morgan used from a guy here in phoenix for $60 including the case. there's one here on craigslist in phoenix for $50 right now. heck of a deal.
