(Sorry for the load of newbie questions)
Anyone know if the right hand control (kill switch, starter button) from an LH will fit an H?
    Thanks
    Cheers,

      Hey Lazer,

I just checked the official Yamaha Microfiche, they list the same part #s for the 81LH right hand switch assembly as the 81SH, but the 81H is a different number...the standard is a 2H7 prefix which means that it's an earlier design, 78-79.

The SH and LH numbers are the 3H3 prefix which IIRC were changed in the 80 model series.

I have an 81SH and I'm trying to remember anything different with the switch assembly vs. other models. The LEFT hand switch had the extra 4 ways flasher switch, but the right one just has the ER stop, start button, along with the brake light switch, that's it. So...I'm pretty sure it will work, but not sure if the # change was due to cosmetic vs functional?

That fiche has to be wrong TC. The 2h7 switch in '78 had the on off switch for the headlight and that was removes in '79. Then I think for the '80 they put a ground wire in the wiring harness. As far as I know those are the only differences in the right hand controls.

          thanks!

It's funny - I had my sf running so smooth - with everyone's help - I had no issues for years. Now with a new model XS I feel like a newbie again!

            Hey Nate,

I didn't check the 78's, but just now did, and it has a different prefix!

1T5-83963-01-98 So...with the headlight on/off switch, that was probably a leftover from an earlier model and size of bike. That's why the 79 has the 2h7 prefix.

              Yeah that is interesting

              '78 E: 1T5

              '79 F: 2H7
              '79SF: 3H3

              '80 G: 2H7
              '80 SG: 3H3
              '80 LG: 3H3

              '81 H: 2H7
              '81 SH: 3H3
              '81 LH: 3H3

Only difference should be that ground wire if that really is different either way.
