    Clutch does not engage

I have an 81 special I just started having issues with the clutch. Once I start the bike when I try to engage the clutch and go into
First gear tHe bike stalls . Seems that clutch is not doing what it's suppose to?
I tried tightened at the clutch lever. Any ideas guys?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Had the same problem after I pressure washed mine a few years ago.
Nuetral safety circuit was shorted. It dried out and no problems since.

+1 Richard. That's what I was thinking. Pick up coil wires shorted to the neutral switch wire. Classic symptom.

If the bike has been sitting for a long time, the oil film between clutch plates are likely sticky. There are some threads in the forum on how to deal with that.
