  • foot peg trouble

[II took the wife for a ride for the first time. everything went well except she had trouble finding a place for her feet. I have hard side saddle bags and they sit just enough forward and close enough to her foot peg that she almost can not keep her foot on the peg. do they make pegs that can sit more forward somehow. the bags attach to the top of the shock and mount in front of the bottom of the shock. just not enough room for her foot. any ideas

Yeah, when my feet are on the highway pegs, my wife tends to sneak her feet up to the "driver's" pegs.

      footpegs

Don't know if this will help or not but,
I eliminated the aluminum rear peg brackets, and discovered that
you can thread old style 'buddy"pegs into the the upper bolt holes of where the brackets used to be .....10 mm bolt size

        Hi virstens,
the bolt that holds the muffler on is forward of the rear peg mount.
See if a longer bolt and spacing collar won't hold the 'peg on there.

Basicly what I did on my Venturer several yrs. back, cutting a spacer slightly shorter than what would be flush with the upper forward mounting point of the peg mount. That brought the passenger pegs forward almost 4in. IIRC and at the same previous height. Folded, they align perfectly with the angled frame tube. They stay tight without pivoting being pulled tight at the bolt to the slightly recessed spacer.
