  • Auto CCT cross reference

    Hey there,

I like the auto cct I put on my 80G last week so much, I want to pick up an auto CCT for my 80SG. I used a Virago 535 auto cct (Vision) on the 80G and had to file the top hole. I'd like to do the next one with a tensioner that doesn't need the hole filed.

Any reason an auto cct from a Grizzly 660 wouldn't work, if it's from the same year as an auto cct on the forum list for a Raptor 660? i.e. 2002 through 2005?

It seems to me there should be no problem, but want to ask.

Yes, that is the list I referred to in my post, I saw what is on it.

I am asking above and beyond for anyone that might have tried what I am am asking about, as I don't know when that was last updated?

Anything on that list is priced higher on ebay, so I'm looking at what isn't on the list, but still seems like it would be the same auto cct.

        Check part numbers.

That list was put together about a year ago with the cross referencing that I think is was boats.net. they have a list of everything that uses a part when you look at individual parts.

OK, challenge taken... One question first... Then I'll leap/not leap based on the input.

I noticed the cct body shape is round on the years not on our forum list for the 660 Grizzly (even though the 660 Raptor IS on our list for the same years). The ones for the years listed on the forum list have the squared off body. Hmmm...

              Thoughts?

All I'll say is note the shape of the listed ACCTs; these are a snug fit, if whatever you're looking at varies much it probably won't work.

Actually, the round body looks a bit skinnier, like our stock cct.

I ordered one for the Raptor 700 in an appropriate year...

Vmax or Venture ACCT don't need the holes filed.

I'd have liked to choose a Venture or V Max unit, but the sellers are a good bit more proud of them than the others, and come in pairs for the most part.

I'm picking nits when I say I don't want to file the hole, it does not add much time to the process, and those style cct's do cost a bit less.

I used a Raptor 660 and also got the regular gasket for it that has a metal ring in the gasket like a head gasket. Did not have to drill out the holes for screws it fit perfect. The gasket creates a seal that is absolutely dry.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

The weird thing is that, on the XJR1300 forums, people replace their automatic CCTV with manual ones! Claiming the automatic ones can slip...... Even though they are the same in principle as the ones we put on our XS1100's.
