OK so I ordered a K&N filter through Amazon for $30. Should be here by the weekend, so I'm going to wait to crank on the engine and adjust the mixture until then. For now, I'd like to try and figure out why the headlights and left turn signals work only about 10% of the time.

I have a brand new battery that is occasionally on a trickle charge, so I don't think that is the problem. My only inkling of a fix is to spray connections I see with contact cleaner from O'reilley's. Results have been, predictably, unsatisfactory. What am I doing wrong?

Get a product called DeOxit. Little spendy but is the stuff for the job. Then buy a tube of Dielectric grease. Then go through every conection on the bike, spray with deoxit then plug and unplug the connector a couple times, spray with the contact cleaner, grease up the inside of the connector and plug back together and move on to the next conector.

DO EVERY CONNECTOR ON THE BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Hi Tom,
DeOxit! That's the stuff. Couldn't remember the name.
You may have noticed that I enhanced Nate's post a tad.
