Assembling the front brake light switch
Okay, so I took this apart not knowing the actual housing came out, and I cannot remember how it went back together......

With the post in that position it goes, black, copper, black, spring with the thinner areas of the black parts inside the copper cylinder. Looks like youre missing the copper center.Nate

Forgot to say, round end of the post goes into the housing so it touches the brake lever. Spring is on the wire side.Nate

I dont remember seeing in anywhere when I took it apart.
