Does anyone know where I can get a King Queen seat with the padded high back? For my 1979 XS1100 Special... I know most people seem to hate them, but I really like the way the look!
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris and welcome.
Dammit, where were you when I was trying to get rid of mine?
I had to keep it for years until I finally found someone who'd accept it as a gift.
yeah, guess what, I hate them too.
It's not the first one either. One of my XS650s came with a KQHB.
I sawed the tail off and welded up the base into a normal seat.
I still have the tailpiece in my shed someplace.
If you can find a friendly welder the tailpiece could be grafted onto your stock seat pan and the whole thing re-covered.
PM me your postal addy and I'll mail it to you.

Are you talking about the K/Q with the individual buckets for each rider or the one that is basically a regular seat but with a really tall padded sissy bar in the back?

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
The one that's all one piece including the padded sissy bar. Sometimes called a "love seat". You don't see them much anymore, was a 70's, hippy kind of thing!
Not the seat like a Mayer or Russell Day Long...

Hi Greg,
I hates them; it's a perceived hazard thing. The raised tail could trap a fat old man on the bike when he urgently needs to bail out.
And them's the ones!
Just like the KQHB that I gave away and the earlier KQHB from one of my XS650s that I sawed the tail off.
Offer still stands; anyone wants that sawn-off tailpiece, PM me your postal address and I'll mail it to you.
