  • Anyone compiled a list of compatible front MC's with proper mirror threads?

I was looking at the raptor 660 front MC's on Ebay as they are super cheap, but they don't have the mirror mount. Has anyone found a decent MC that will fit our bikes BESIDES the new ones at Partsnmore or xsmikes? There are new Chinese ones for 12-16 bucks but the piston is only 14mm, not big enough for our XS dual discs. Just curious.
Bone stock 1980 Special except for the exhaust and crashbars. Oh yeah, and the scabbard for the Winchester Defender.

Yamaha is the only manufacturer AFAIK that uses the left hand threads.

Okay Phil, that narrows down the search a little, so are there any other Yamaha ones that might fit our bars and have a good sized piston that will supply our dual discs?

I added a second disc to my XS650 the stock MC worked great with stock lines too. Now the 11 is much heavier but add SS lines I bet it will work fine. Watch for the angle difference between the standards and the specials.

Ok so that would require one of the thread adapters if we used another brand.

If you used another brand MC, you would need a male CW to a female CCW adapter to use the Yamaha mirrors. Might just be easier to upgrade to some standard CW thread mirrors.

Not trying to burglarize your thread Courtney, just conversing.

I have a friend with a Star Warrior 1700. The XS has 25 more HP and the Warrior sounds, and kinda looks, like a Harley.

No worries, I also found a 7/8" mirror holder bracket so I can pretty much use any MC that is big enough for twin rotors. Ours are 17.5mm MC's so I will be using that as a guide, and the bike they came off of. (If it had dual rotors or not).
