Does anyone know the part number or name of the small black cylinders inside the front brake light switch? I lost one tonight.

Yeah, they do not sell that little plastic sleeve separate. You will need to buy the switch, or use the other one as a guide to make one out of part of a pen or something like that. Since the entire switch is $7 plus shipping, I would go for the new switch. Try your local stealership, they just might have it in stock.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

Holy Crap!!! $25 plus shipping!!??? Pats-n-more has them for $5. Of course they have a minimum shipping fee of $15, but Boats wants $7 shipping on top of the $25!Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

Yes you can maybe find it elsewhere cheaper, but Only if they have the part in stock, Well hey, welcome to the real world. Many companies charge for shipping and handling. The handling is what they are charging you for.
I have shipped many parts to members for the price of shipping. Believe you me that they got the best part of that deal. If I think of all the mileage, hours, time spent, gas to and fro to get shipping quotes, and even the fact I had to buy the shipping box I am so far in the red that if anyone tells my wife I will die.
We all love to save money but really your total is under a 20 dollar bill. So maybe if you search enough you can find it for 2 bucks cheaper. Good luck with that.
Oh yeah ... be prepared for the notification that they no longer have this part in stock....Not trying to burst your bubble or anyone elses but life it what it is.Last edited by Rasputin; 06-21-2013, 08:52 PM.2-79 XS1100 SF

Im well aware of how commerce works buts its a deceptive practice. Charge what youre going to charge but be straight about it. Dont try to hide the real cost in the shipping so you can seem to be the cheapest then spring it on them at the end. I wont buy from people on ebay that do the same sort of thing.Nate

I have the MikesXS front brake switch on my Standard right now that I bought many years ago, still works, no problem. Maybe I got one from a good batch, you know how it goes with Chinese parts .2H7 (79) owned since '89
