  • fairing light troubles

Have '80G with factory bags and recently purchased factory fairing. Problems: Added what looks to be extra small set of side lights to bottom sides of fairing, inop. Also, turn signals work backwards. When I turn on left signal. right flashes and vice versa. Looks to be some wires easy tapped together, wonder if backwards. Also, cig lighter in fairing, has red and black wires that look ready to be slidden down over prongs with correct attachments, just go ahead and try it? Haven't had fairing on bike since fixed Headlight relay, could this be problem with sidelights also? Thanks

Turn signal, yup moat likely the wires are just connected wrong.

Side lights, can't really tell you without more info. Bulbs good? Wires connected? Is there voltage getting to the light?

Cig lighter, see where the wires run and make sure everything looks good and then try pluging it in.

Pics of the fairing could help. Different fairings have different wiring setups. Plus we just like pics.

You need a multi meter and some time... Trace where the wires come from and go to. Make sure you have voltage at each step. Your turn signal wires are backwards

Looks like they slpiced and wired both, one to left side and one to right side. Should I just undo and change the wires to the opposite sides? Thanks, Dave

yup....test lite is all thats needed. Those two plastic booted wires in there ARE for any accessories, lighter, etc.
