Problem there though is that the XS11 has the ignition switch also mounted in that clamp and the chrome one does not have the part for that switch.

Got one on my Standard, chrome will start to pit rather quickly, nice looking piece though.

True ! And I had to put a little bit of a tiny worn out drill bit taped to each side of the bars where the clamp bites the bar, even though I cranked them down as hard as I dared. This kept them from turning in the clamps when braking hard, ( leaning on the bars would cause them to turn down under the clamps on the XS650 ), might be a better way but this worked for me.

              Hey Phil,

I've had mine on there for several years, still looks good, but mine is GARAGE KEPT!

And it clamped down nice and tight on my bars just fine! But yep, if you have a standard, won't work because of the ignition switch, but specials are just fine.

I have one of these. You need to throw your keys on the ring over the top or they rub the chrome off. Also, they don't grip the bars very well (at least at first), so be sure your bars will stay in position if you put down-pressure on them -- or your tank will be sad!

                  Hi Nate,
the Standard's ignition switch don't mount on that clamp, it sticks up through it so the chrome clamp simply leaves the switch out in the open.
                  Just like on a Special.
Where the chrome clamp won't work because the Special's bar clamps are spaced further apart.

The (top) handlebar clamp for the original V-Max fits perfectly, looks beautiful, won't slip like most of the after market stuff and simply looks trick. You can even get the chrome push on bolt tops from Yamaha which really finishes it off........ultra cool.
