  • just figured my gas milage

since i finished my bike i have not figured out what kind of gas milage i was getting. so i went for a good ride today and figured that i might as well fill up before and then again on the way back so that i could try to figure what kind of gas milage i was getting. i have a straight exhaust and pod filters, and fj1100 carbs, so i was expecting kind of lower numbers than most on here were saying they were getting. i rode 86 miles (all highway miles)after filling up then filled it up and it took 2 gallons to fill it up, so if my math is right that means that i am getting roughly 43 miles to the gallon. i couldnt belive it.

    Hey John,

Yep, modern carbs make a big difference! I think Catatonic bug reported similar results when he put on the other carbs....think it was suzuki.

Glad to hear you had a good ride, we're going to have to get all of use tidewater xsives together for a mini rally!.

                  Hi Nightengale !
just put the stock air box on and the K&N filter, thrashed it a bit, but before hand city and back roads then hit the freeway to finish off the run, 25 mpg.. Still plugs light pink. I've now set the pilots back to 2 turns out.
