    Boot's

Are you talking 1/8" to 1/4" or so??
I got a set off eBay that didnt specify a model, and the airbox seem's a bit far back now, if you know what I mean.I was able to close the gap by forcing the box forward, and tightning the clamp's.

It looks like about a 1/4 in. I have a standard, and am putting a new set of boots on a special for my cousin, I already had a new set for one of my standards, so just out of curiosity, I put them side by side, and the special boots I took off, are longer than the standards. Later 'Dog

        Boot sizes

        Hey Dog.
I just checked p/ns at Yamaha's online parts site, and the boots for the 79 standard are the same as the 79 Special. They are: 2H7-13586-00-00 & 2H713596-00-00. One set may be aftermarket. Aftermarket manufacturers can duplicate parts without patent infringment by changing the dimensions slightly. Have you ever bought an aftermarket fender for a car, and the bolt holes don't quite line up propely? That's what I'm talking about.
