If it's the tire wear that makes you think the frame is bent, you might be in luck. Bent fames aren't common, usually 'other' bits bend first. That tire wear could be a damaged wheel, bad wheel bearings, mis-aligned forks, bent forks, bent triple trees. Could even be a bent rear swingarm....
That's the good news; the bad news is several of these things may not be very obvious and you'll probably have to disassemble stuff to find most damaged parts. You show that you own another XS, for checking the frame just compare the two as the geometry is the same for all.
And for $50 if it runs, ya stole it!.....

Find a piece of glass that is the right size to fit flat against the fork tubes. It should lay flat and not rock back and forth. That will give you an idea if something in the front end is bent. You will still need to disassemble it to find the offending part or parts.
Here my new bike. I just paid 50$ for this special!!!! But i thing the frame is bended. How can i make sure what is bended?
Hi le_bucheron,
if you can't find or can't fix whatever is bent there is an alternative to scrapping the bike:-
Hang a sidecar on it, a sidecar rig don't care if the frame is bent or not.

Can you imagine what a MNS would look like with a sidecar?

While the XS and XJ share the same frame geometry, there are significant differences. The major differences are much different fuel tank, seat, sidecover, and rear fender mounts, as well as some minor changes in electrical brackets.

Hi George,
it'd look just like my Flying Pumpkin except the bike would be all black and have those gold anodized wheels'nstuff and the sidecar would be gloss black with gold pinstriping instead of Tangier Orange.
And while I have no idea if the following would be appropriate to le_boucheron's life style, a sidecar makes a great chick magnet.
