  • WTF; new and different first time pilot jet "problem"

For this carburetor clean and rebuild project (2 racks) ~~ had been "dreading" the extract of the pilot jet(s) ~~ had run the 1st carb through several ultrasonic (8 minute runs) over couple days ~~ blew it clean with good air compress ~~ set the carb and run a medicine dropper of Chem-Dip down onto the jet ~~ let soak for about an hour ~~ and proceeded to put my new jim-dandy-perfect-fit-Snap-On screwdriver to the "test". Came loose and unscrewed just perfect. NOW, it won't fall outta the chamber...........

    Lol

For the pilot, just take a piece of fine wire and bend a small hook into it. Slip the hook down through the hole and tip to the side and pull the jet out. I house lake fishing line.

I turn the carb so the jet is facing down, and then put the screwdriver in and turn the jet while lowering the screwdriver.

        ......finally.....success.

Ran the carb through some more cleaning sessions in ultrasonic cleaner, with the jet being loose in the chamber; let soak overnite. After that, held the carb with chamber hole pointing down, and spun the jet with couple different size mini screwdrivers ~~ trying to drop the jet on down through, and out ~~ no success. Finally, again holding carb with jet hole downward, I started tapping side of carb with small wooden dowel ~~ after a while, the jet just fell and plopped right on out. When I was tapping ~~ could hear the pilot jet rattling around in chamber.........finally, out it came.......amazing................
