  • carburetor boot install; proper location?

These 4 boots have 4 different number configurations on them; I can tell which ones go on the left, and which go on the right. Looking at one of the sets of two for the different side(s), or comparing to my old ones~~ I can't really see a difference, as far as putting one on the inside, and one on the outside. Number(s) for the right side ~~ H2 , 2H7-2 (on one of the boots); H1 , 2H7-2 (for the other one that goes on right side. Number(s) for the left side ~~ H2 , 2H7-1 ; and H1 , 2H7-1 . Can the two that go to the left, go to either of the 2 ports on the left ~~ same for right? Or do the 4 different numbers designate specific port location? If you take a set of two that would go to a particular side, measurements and angle(s) of the 2 boots "appear" to be same. In other words, would 2 that would go to one side, be interchangeable? If so, curious why the numbers would be different. ............confused...................

Hard to say about the numbers... Yamaha shows them as left and right pairs (same part number for each 'side') so the different numbers on the actual part could be something left over from the production line or maybe even a mold number for tracking parts....

Thanks for checking; I was headed for the various OEM microfiche(s) , myself. Yep; they're all showing 2 different part numbers; one number for the left side; one for the right.

The inside and outside boots are different lengths from what I recall in swapping them. So each of the four has a designated spot. The left side have their vacuum ports facing left, and vacuum ports on the right for the the right side boots.

I got mine aftermarket so I do not recall seeing part numbers on them.
