Thanks Larry. I may have to get those. Just need to know if there is any change in performance with them. Any loss of acceleration?

like you say, the bike needs back-pressure to run nice.
But you hate how the stock system looks and want the straight pipe look.
But baffled.
Know that if your stock exhaust is in good shape it's worth a modest fortune so to chop it up is to shoot yourself in the wallet.
If like most of us your headers are still sound but the mufflers are rotting away, cut back to where it's good, weld in adapters as required and fit slip-ons.
Your choice of slip-on, including the baffled faux straight pipe slip-ons you can get from Harley dealers.
I used 1960s Triumph mufflers for nostalgia's sake.Last edited by fredintoon; 05-08-2013, 04:08 PM.Fred Hill, S'toon

Screamin Eagle mufflers from a sportster sound throaty. I really like mine."The Hooligan" XJ1100, Virago Gauge Pods, Screaming Eagle Mufflers, K&N Filter, hand made rear fender, side covers, and solo seat, round bar conversion, small headlight, tail light, and cat eye turn signals, chip fuses, rewired the right way.
