I have exactly the reverse situation from Bonz

Just picked up an '80G with a nice set of pipes and would like to mount them on my '78E. Based on the interchange guide (http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37191) it sounds as if the flange on the 80 is shorter than on the '78. Seems to me that these would mount with no stud change. Is this correct? Any reason to trim down the studs?
Second question. My '78E currently has a set of Mac 4-2 pipes mounted. Any idea whether these will direct mount on the '80G? If I was Mac I think I would only make one flange length.
Thanks in advance for your help.
