speedo lights

Hi guys,
My speedometer went out so finally got one from a lot older bike but seems the same in most ways. My old one and wire harness has 2 bulbs and two holes in the speedo white backing. The older one I bought is all the same but the bottom hole is not open seems to have a molded plug, its right under were the cable goes into. I tried tapping it out with a screw driver

Just curious on your all experience and best thing to do

The lights do have rubber boots on then.
