  • Broken fuel gauge

When I opened up my tach to clean the inside glass last week I found out that my fuel gauge wasnt working because of a broken part inside. I recieved another today to replace it and it has the exact same problem. Does anyone know if its possible to fix this?

The bi-metal strip is supposed to be connected near the base of the needle with an arm that goes through the needle bottom. They have both snapped at the base.

I tried to fix one and I guess I am just not smart enough. Tried solder and tried JBWeld. Nothing worked for me.

I've soldered that bi-metal strip before and it worked that way for many many years until I found a replacement. It still worked perfectly when I took it out. I soldered it back in the 90's and IIRC it was a touchy delicate process.
