I almost got ripped off on eBay with these OEM "new old stock" tank emblems. The guy swore up and down that they were OEM motorcycle parts. Anyway, he's layin low now. Someone caught on to what he was doing and went after him legally for misrepresentaion and fraud. It's crazy that I almost paid $60 for a set of $4 golf cart emblems!!

      Tank Emblems

My thanks to Bill Woods, the golf cart emblems are fine and available in the UK at a cost £5.75 (about $8), I just wish everything else I need to complete the restoration was as cheap and easy to find.

Yikes - has it been a whole year since I was last messing around with these? I don't know where the time has gone, but I do know that I haven't managed to work up a fresh set of standard molds, or even think about a set of molds for specials.

However, I do have a few sets of partially-finished standard emblems on hand that I could clear out from my workshop. These are the emblems I took to the bodyshop for painting gold and clearcoating. I'm not really happy with the way they turned out so could not in good conscience charge anything for them. These units need black paint, and they will need to be stuck on with a good automotive trim tape. They are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but they would be better than no emblems at all.

If you're still interested, drop me a personal note either via the forum or by direct e-mail with your postal mailing address.

                      Heya ben!

Mine were all painted gold and I had to fill in the black places between letterts. Check out the begining of this thread.

                        Re: Emblems

Have you considered painting them black first, doing the lettering in gold leaf and sealing them in clear urethane? It would cost more but look like a million bucks.

You should then be able to paint them over with black acrylic and wipe the surfaces of the letters to get a 'gold on black' look. Rather than using mounting posts, these have been fabricated for attachment with trim tape.

They look like a million bucks as they are. Just a word of caution. I used black acrillic paint for painting model stuff (u know.. the cans as big as your finger). Theyre cheap and a good alternative if you dont need much paint. OK, the caution: The paint is a bit too thick and it would be nice if you dilute it with paint thinner or sth. But just a bit. Just scratched my old funny lookin XS 1100 labels off.
