I'm searching for recommendations on carb and fuel petcock rebuild kits. The only ones I seem to find available are the K&L brand ones.

The K&L are the most commonly available and as far as I know the only ones still being made. Most of whatever else you may find will probably be NORS. Most vendors are selling the K&L kits, even if they don't identify them as such, and by and large they work fine. Some have had issues with the needles and jets in the K&L kits, but genuine Mikuni jets are still available if yours are bad.Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

I have exclusively bought my kits for carbs and petcocks from George Fix as long as I have been working on XS11s. Never had an issue with anything I bought from him. And yes they are K&L kits.
From what I have seen and read to date, the biggest issue folks have with the K&L kits is getting the wrong jets. If you tell George what year and model carbs you have, he will set you up with the right parts.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.
