Does it matter if the bike is on a jack when you put the plugs back in after filling up the oil? I want sure to much air could be trapped in it if there was no weight on the front end.

If you put weight on the front end without the plugs in, the tubes will compress and I will be in awe if you can compress the springs enough to get the caps on. The caps go on the forks prior to putting any weight on them.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
