    Hard bag brackets

I just bought a set of hard bags off ebay that supposedly came off a 78' and the owner may or may not have the brackets. I have an 81 special. Would the brackets do me any good if he could find them, or will I have to find a way to mount them myself? Any suggestions?

A little bar stock and some ingenuity and you can make them fit. BTDT

The Standard and Special brackets are very close and should fit each others frames with minimal modification.

Thanks. He doesn't even know if he has them or not, but I guess we'll see.

Thanks. Just pulled my bike out today. We still have snow up here. Waiting for the bags to show up, hopefully with brackets.
