So,I've been working with Yahman on him making me a lock that will work for my left side cover.I wanted it made of aluminum, not plastic,I wanted it to be functional, and to not stick out.Well,he came through in flying colors. It locks, small machine screw visible(that can easily be touched up with black paint)Took all of 15 minutes to install, and I believe it should last as long as the bike. Here's some pic's installed.

Might want to post some clearer pics so we can see your expert machine work in all its splendor.

Excellent machine work, as usual.
Great pics too, I might add.
Thanxs
P.S. Maybe a black nylon bolt and washer instead of the shiny steel ones ?Last edited by Schming; 04-10-2013, 12:58 PM.1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )

Not all XS1100's are Black and I don't think the tensile strength of a nylon fastener would be up to the task. These are high quality Stainless Steel with a nice satin finish. The washer is just 7/16" in diameter, screw head and washer together are only 1/8" in height. They are small and not very noticeable. If you do want them to shine, all they need is a little polishing. Or apply a little touch-up paint to make them match your bikes color.
