  • Rubber treatment

Anyone have a favorite way of reconditioning rubber items like the wiring harness, brake lines, etc.?

I use Vasoline to clean up carb diaphragms but doubt if that's the best way to clean up other parts.

    Thanks,

    Doug,

I use a CARQUEST product. It's their vinyl and rubber dressing. It's purple and stinky. It has sunscreen too. My daughter refers to it as grape drink.

If you can't get it, any of those white milky treatments will do.

303 aerospace protectant is what I've been using for the past few years.

I did a lot of research on this topic and decided to use 303 products for my vehicles and camper.

A little pricey but I'm partial to the "cry once" theory

      1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
      1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
      1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
      1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.
