In the message in the forum- XS11.com>Maintenance>Engine>Clutch Slip Fixes
They talk about using washers. Can someone make these for me? I've been to Ace True Value and O'reilly's with no luck.

    TIA

    Hey there Sidekick,

If you're going to go thru the trouble of tearing down the clutch to put shim washers in there, then why not just spend $10.00 and get a set of NEW HEAVY DUTY springs from JCW or elsewhere? If your running the OEM springs, then most likely they are just sprung, compressed and not the proper length anymore to provide the proper tension. And while you're at it, you can get an OEM set of friction plates for about $50-60 bucks vs. the higher performance and pricier ones running $99.00+.

Have you done the clutch adjustment properly? Are you running pure synthetic oil instead of a blend, or DINO juice? You slipping may be due to more than just weak springs!!

If you decide to put shims in, they need to go down over the #2 pressure plate's posts against the clutch basket, then the spring, then the star plate, don't try to put them next to the star plate, you'll break off the lip on the fragile/brittle star pressure plate!!!
