You've got an SF, a 79 Special, there. Looks like someone swapped out the special tank for an 81 H Venture tank. A standard model with a larger capacity tank.

Standard handle bars, seat and tail piece, and Harley mufflers too.

Looks pretty clean. How does it run?

      Hey there Eddie,

Glad you had a good ride and made it back. If you haven't seen my post/reply to your previous thread, I would suggest you read it. Marty posted the link to the story of the guy on the FJR list that did the work on your bike, and I have deduced that he used the inferior MikesXS black hi output coils on it. They WILL die on you. Most folks had them last about 1 season, or 10-12k miles. I only put 2-3k on mine every year, so it took 4 years, but they died on me also. See the NEGATIVE MikesXS black coils product report as well as the tech tip.

Greg, take a look at that link. He built a custom seat from an 80 seatpan, added the cowl, had to repair/reweld the rear upper frame struts due to stress fractures from the luggage rack, did the dremel fix, carbs, brakes, mufflers, suspension mods and such.

        Ok.

That bike looks pretty good but I'm old school, I like the special tank and the buckhorns.
