rust and the exhaust

Does anyone know the best method to remove rust from the inside of the exhaust system?

Not really, but I am thinking of the reason the rust is in there. Do you tend to take short rides and shut the bike down before it reaches normal running temperature for a period of time? Combustion water ruins exhaust systems in bikes, and cars, for that reason.

How much rust are you talking about. A little surface rust or big scally chucks? A little surface rust I wouldn't worry about.

sittin off a bike for some time

its for some headers and exhaust, i found that a friend of mine has that i was thinking of trying to see if i could make a custom exhaust for my bike. they were off the bike and in a shed and had been out there for some time and when i picked them up you could hear the rust shakin around, and when i turned them over some rust fell out of them.

I used Metal Rescue on a somewhat rusted gas tank and it did a great job cleaning it up. You could seal one end of the pipes and pour it in the other and seal it to let it work its magic.

i was thinking that would work think i will give it a try.

The only problem will be seeing inside enough to know when it is finished working. I'd say give it 12 hours or so if it is really bad.
