I am putting the wiring harness back on my bike and I have a few questions. Where does the Red/Yellow wire from the TCI go? It has a bullet connector on the end, but I am not sure where the connector is. The wiring diagram shows it going to the starter motor, but I don't see a place for that wire to go to. One other thing is what does the dimmer relay look like and where does it go? That is the last connection that I am missing. If I have lost that relay will it keep the bike from starting?

The red/yellow is the resistor bypass power and plugs into the connector that is connected to the solenoid-to-starter cable. As to the 'dimmer' relay, I don't know what that is. Do you mean the headlight relay? If that's the one, the bike will run without it, you just won't have a headlight....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Yeah, I found the old battery to starter wire and saw that there was a female bullet connector there, but it is green, so that threw me.79 SF 3H3 Engine, 145/45 Mikuni Jets, El Cheapo Pod Filter Mod w/ EMGO Pods, Coil Repower w/ Dyna Coils, Accell Wires and Side Gapped Plugs, 78 Mech Advance, 4-2 Turnouts

Nope, that's the wrong one. That connection is your main power feed to the ignition switch.Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

It is hooked to the terminal on the solenoid that has the wire that goes to the starter, so that it only has power to it during starter cranking.
Wonder how many different schemes Yamaha put out?

Well, he's not quite getting the description right; the connection on the battery-to-solenoid is the main power. He wants the connection on the solenoid-to-starter cable...Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

Yeah, sorry about the description. It was the solenoid to starter cable. Would there be any problem connecting the green wire to the solenoid using a ring terminal? That way I wouldn't have to redo the cable ends.
As for the dimmer relay, from looking at other wiring diagrams it looks like it is the headlight relay, just with a different label. It is labeled as dimmer here:

Just wanted to make sure that is indeed the headlight relay.79 SF 3H3 Engine, 145/45 Mikuni Jets, El Cheapo Pod Filter Mod w/ EMGO Pods, Coil Repower w/ Dyna Coils, Accell Wires and Side Gapped Plugs, 78 Mech Advance, 4-2 Turnouts
