You were on the money Steve, went out to the garage and pulled a caliper off, had a real close look, turned up a brass drift, sat the caliper on a block of wood, bit of WD40 , a few sharp smacks with the hammer and guess what emerged ( pic ) cleaned the spacer and the bore, coated it with Never Seize and re-assembled . Will do the other side tomorrow night, thanks for that !

Well, well, well, would you look at that, still learnin' stuff and I dont even own it any more.

You're in the right place here Mark, what these guys dont know about these things hasnt been written yet. And the forks are off an 80, its the front wheel thats off a 79, but the only difference is the solid discs, as opposed to the slotted ones that should be on it.
1980 SG. (Sold - waiting on replacement)
2000 XJR1300. The Real modern XS11. Others are just pretenders.

Woman (well, my wife anyway) are always on Transmit and never Receive.

Yes Brian, was thinking the same thing, I would never have discovered that, it was locked in there so tight it just looked like part of the caliper.
