  • Tripple Tree For Clip-ons? Before I start cutting and grinding...

    Hi,

I was wondering if there is a stock part that fits as our top tripple tree clamp for the xs1100s without those gauge mount holes or the bar clamps.

I am prepared to cut(?) off the clamp then angle sand down the tree an slowly shave it to something nice, but if anyone has a better part it would save me time.

If i do have to go the fab route, what's the best way to remove that much aluminum?

Not that I'm aware of. The gauge mounts can be cut off easily, but removing the bar clamps will leave holes (and reduce strength). There was a recent post where someone did just this, but he tig-welded 'plugs' into the holes.

There are shops that can custom-fab a billet replacement for about $200, that's your alternative...
