I tried to install a set of Harley Dyna Glide mufflers but realized that I need to weld an adaptor to make it work. The Yamaha pipe is roughy 1.5" OD and the Harley muffler is approx 1.7" ID. I searched extensively but have not been able to find adaptors with 1.5" id on one end and with 1.75 OD on the other end. Anyone find one? Any other options for this install? Cheers, Doug

Hi Doug,
the adapter should go outside the end of the existing exhaust and inside the Harley muffler but you may have to compromise that set-up according to what adapter sizes you can actually find.
I had the good luck to find the adapters I needed in Canadian Tire's automotive exhaust pipe section.
And Stainless Steel T-bolt hose clamps work better and look better than the usual worm drive hose clamps for holding the mufflers on.Fred Hill, S'toon

I would get the right size tube for the mufflers, and weld a 2" chunk of them to your headers. A lot of people have learned that the Harley mufflers come off at the wrong angle when just clamping them to the headers. Look in the Harley muffler thread."The Hooligan" XJ1100, Virago Gauge Pods, Screaming Eagle Mufflers, K&N Filter, hand made rear fender, side covers, and solo seat, round bar conversion, small headlight, tail light, and cat eye turn signals, chip fuses, rewired the right way.

I forgot that pipes can be expanded. I decided to take the bike to a local muffler guy tomorrow and find out what he can do. I have to learn how to weld one of these days. The muffler shop did a great job for $60. They modified a reducer and welded it at one end. I will post some photos if anyone is interested.81H Venture - hope to ride summer 2013
