Start of changing satin black engine to "factory" look

Here is a pic of my start on changing the bike engine from a full satin black to "factory" color to qualify for collector plates as per B.C. rules. Still tons to do, but now at least I know it's do-able. Need to clean up overspray, wipe off bolt heads etc, put more on cylinders yadda yadda - you can see the first effort however. Would appreciate peoples comments on it.

Bone stock 1980 Special except for the exhaust and crashbars. Oh yeah, and the scabbard for the Winchester Defender.

Looks like a good start! Let me know if you need any "little" parts. I have some spares for the specials, and hope to get up close to you September. My older sister is in DuPont, WA, and I hope to get back on the island the next time I get up that way.

Thanks DiverRay, I'll slowly get this done. What kind of parts have you got? I'll be looking it over and figuring out what has to go back on to qualify as original. I can see the front reflectors are missing, so they have to go back on. Dupont is pretty close to here, been through a number of times.

I have spares from a '79 special, and a few from an 80. Tank, seat, rear shock covers, and a LOT of bolts/nuts. It may take a week or two to find it, but I do have a lot of stuff...

Doh! Just bought a tank from Andreas for this! Mine's a special, and I had traded for a standard tank! I needed a special tank!
