Xs1100 special cover

Just a quick question. I "HAD" a great bike cover that fit the special well, with room for the buckhorn bars and all. It was a canvas type and lasted 7+ years. Now it shot and I can't find that brand, any here know of a realy good cover for these bikes

I just use an inexpensive generic cover by Bilt. Sold at CycleGear.
The "full weather" type goes on sale a couple times a year. Normally retail for $129(ish) offered onsale for $60(ish)
Large size works very well with XS11. I have used it with or without a windshield.

Mine never sits long enough to need a cover. It would be annoying to have to uncover it every morning. You're in Florida anyway! Why would you need to cover it? It never gets cold enough there to put it away, even for the fair-weather riders.

Oh yeah... I just noticed you have a large selection of bikes to rotate through!

In Florida the sun and the UV will terrorize the paint and the seat cover. I would want my bike covered there more so than here in Ohio.

Thanks DGXSER. Here in SW Florida the sun and salt will kill a bike faster then in the north pole The gauge needles will die in the sun and it rains daily in the summer, just looking for a good canvas type cover, don't have a garage any more$$$ thanks

If you read my profile, only one bike says current, that would be my XS1100 79 Special, The other's were over the years, probably more years then I care to admit. I am down to one old bike, not lot's of $$$ and just asking for help to keep it as nice as I can without a garage and little $$$. I hope you have lot's of $$$$ and are blessed. I feel blessed even without the $$$ I once had, thanks for your thoughts

I do not have a good suggestion as to what cover to use but I do suggest that when you do put a cover on expecially if it is made of the more modern materials light weight materials that you first cover the bike with a cover blanket. When I was in Jacksonville I got a cover for my other bike for the same reason. In just one storm the wind rubbing the cover on the paint rubbed the paint off. After that I got 2X2 lumber built a small frame 5 sheets of chip board and a tarp and the only problem then was the pesky tree frogs.

The BILT covers are very good quality for the price. However, even though they say that there is a heat resistant panel at the bottom, let your machine cool before putting the cover on. The Large size is the right one if you dont have a big fairing, etc.

My machine is never indoors (though it is always under my patio). So I cover it all the time and the BILT cover keeps everything clean and ready to go.
