Anyone using repro. carb holders?

Anyone using a set of the reproduction carb holders that are all over Ebay these days? How are they holding up? Everything fit as well as OEM?

I got mine from Parts n' More. They've been on there for a year or two and so far, so good. My air box helps to support the carburetors, so I'm not taxing them like I would with pods. I don't know how many manufactures there are. It's possible that they're all the same.

I bought a set from Siriusconinc a year or so ago. They appear to be out of stock at the moment. That set with the bolts and free shipping looks to be a heck of a deal!

I bought the carb holders you speak of a little over a year ago from amazon or ebay, can't remember which. The fitment was outstanding. The carbs slide into these much easier than the stock ones. Obviously the new rubber is much more soft. Mine came with gaskets, I have heard on this site people saying not to use them, but that was after I already had them installed and have had no leaks from them. I have been very happy with my boots, and even though my OEM ones didn't leak it was worth it to have nice looking and plyable ones.

I have seen ones on ebay for even less $ than I paid for them.

That's what I'm thinking. I personally think the value is in the clamps if they are at all usable.. MikesXS sells clamps for $4.50/ea (shipping extra !).

I wasn't able to find much on here about the holders, just people posting links to ebay and siruiscon when they would run across them.

I think I'm going to grab a set for my 78 XS for the GSXR throttle bodies..

I have some cheap ones that I almost pulled the brass tube out of when it was hot (synching), otherwise they work great. I use clamps like the hose clamps.

Watch out for the little paper gaskets they give you with the boots, they are crap and will leak after a short time, mine did and I removed them and used RTV sealer instead, YMMV

I figured. I cut an extra set the last time I made some intake gaskets. They would at least be a good template for cutting new ones.
