An old Brit bike rider showed me a simple technique. With the motor off and the clutch lever pulled, get the bike rolling. You can just sit on the bike and push it forward with yer feet. Ya don't hafta be going very fast; I do this in twenty feet of my driveway. Now, with the bike rolling and the clutch lever in, put it into first gear. That's it. Repeat once or twice for a really stuck set of plates and steels. Now start yer bike and go riding.

No dumping the clutch on a running motor or anything. It has worked for me for years...
