  • 81 caliper boots

I think I have searched the known universe trying to locate these. A couple of places said they stock them but when asked they in fact didn't?

The part number is...4L0-25917-00-00.... other calipers have part numbers starting with....4X8...1UY....or 3JD...not sure if they fit or can be made to fit.

I don't think brake will work without them....

any ideas to overcome not having them or any supplier contacts would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks, Steve

Unfortunately, those are long discontinued, and unless you luck out and find a NOS set from somebody, you're out of luck. These were also used on the LH/XJ models, maybe you can find a decent used set.

That's the downside. The upside is they're not absolutely needed, but are more of a anti-rattle/dust boot deal. Find a o-ring or rubber washer that will fit into the hole and with a just-big-enough ID for the pin, that will work. The caliper should be able to slide on the pin with only slight resistance. Use some light grease on the pin when reassembling.

Rubber caliper sleeve Boot XS650 + more

Rubber caliper sleeve Boot. - Boot allows caliper to float on mounting bolt sleeve. Once this rubber age hardens the caliper will not float and it should be replaced or brakes will drag or squeal. Polish the sleeve and install Boot to restore correct caliper float. Caliper Boot Fits: 1977-84 XS650 Calipers. Also fits: XS400, XS750 77-79, XS850 80, XS1100 78-81

Hey TC, those rubbers look like they're for the Standard XS1100 calipers' sliders, the calipers on the Euro Sport 5K7 are the same as XJ11 which are the same as the RD350LC in UK (RZ350 in US????) which is what Yambits sell in the UK.

Handy to know if you have an XJ11 on your side of the pond. I have an XJ11 and an XS11 Sport so VERY handy for me to know
