  • Caliper bolt

I was just out looking the bike over and realized the bolt on the rear caliper is missing. Anyone know what that is and where I can get one if its something not found at a local hardware store?

    Thanks
    Nate

    Hey Tat,
First I have to ask was that you that put the XS11 riders add on craigslist last summer. I lived in Mankato at the time and remembered seeing it. Guessing your my closest excessive.

If I remember right the rear caliper has studs on it that bole to the big bracket that slides into the swimgarm and is held by the axle. I am assuming you are not talking about the bango bolt.

In a couple minutes I'll run out and make sure my memory is correct.

        Ok,
        We're both right.

The bolt is a M8 1.25 pitch. 50mm length, 25mm threads.Thought I had an extra one but I do not. I better go put this one back in before I forget and am in the same boat as you.

I can go measure my spare setup at halftime.

          Too late.

I have not seen many shoulder bolts in those sizes around here. I would not worry about using a fully threaded bolt for that application.

Its a standard coarse metric M8 bolt.

If you have the little brake pad holding screw in the back of the caliper, the caliper can not come off but still better to have the M8 screw in there.

Yeah Im going to find a bolt before I ride just to be safe. Supposed to get into the 40s later in the week so hopefully I can find something around here. If not, Andreas said he has a stock bolt he can send in a week or so.
